I recommend looking for previews on YouTube to feel out your purchases. Ubisoft's DLC is expensively addictive, but worth it. The Real Tone cable works with both my Mac and my PS4. It's supercharged my learning, as I had plateaued, BUT I was familiar enough with chords and the fretboard to tackle that. Lately I've been cranking the difficulty way, way up in RR and slowing the songs way, way down. It has a habit of tossing you something new (as it should) which often throws me off. On the Mac, I just use the headphone jack.ĭynamic Difficulty is a friend and an enemy depending on circumstances. On the PS4 I have the optical from the console running straight to a headphone amp (bought on Amazon) and the video via HDMI directly to my tv. Have your guitar louder than the track (so you are listening to yourself). There are many ways to set up the audio as lag is often a complaint but is SOLVABLE if you read up on it. There are lessons that range from holding your guitar to chords to bends to tapping. By default, the program (I don't call it a game) will increase the complexity and density of the notes depending on how you do. You literally plug in your guitar or bass and play along with actual tracks. Rocksmith is insanely fun and a smooth genius product from Ubisoft.
